Screen resolution and browser compatibility
The website of the Federal Central Tax Office is optimized for all current browsers of the latest generation. With older browser versions, there may be graphic deviations in the display of fonts and in the division of the page areas. The BZSt online.portal is optimized for four device types:
Desktop (XL) and (L), tablet (M) and smartphone (S). The pre-defined breakpoints for these screen types are:
• Desktop view XL and L 1280 - 1439 pixels and 1026 - 1279 pixels
• Tablet view M 600 – 1025 pixels
• Smartphone view S 320 – 599 pixels
Download files
The term download refers to opening or saving files from the Internet on your work computer. Depending on your Internet browser (MS Edge, Google Chrome, etc.), a dialog box appears. Here, you can decide which program to use for opening the file or whether the file should be saved on your computer. Download times can vary greatly depending on your internet connection speed, file size and server load.
Various file formats (PDF documents, ZIP archive files, etc.) are available for a download. Generally, the downloads are opened in a separate window .
Icons and symbols in general
Icons of the BZSt BOP portal are mainly line-based symbols promoting user-friendliness through linked functions and stylized subject areas. They help navigating and also cover the most important operating functions of the website. Furthermore, system icons, decorative icons, function icons and icons that serve as watermarks are used.
